August 27, 2021

The Tennessee Annual Conference has been severely affected by the recent floods.  St. James AME Church, Dickson, Tennessee has sustained some water damage and the community around it has been impacted with the loss of property, loss of life, and personal belongings.  Salters Chapel AME Church, Waverly, TN has not had any damage to the building, but the community of Waverly has been severely devastated with loss of life, and property.  Tennessee Officials have stated it is the worse flood this county has seen with a total of 22 dead and several persons are still unaccounted.

The District is responding to their needs, and we would be grateful if you would partner with us by sending your gifts to the 13th District Tennessee Flood Relief to the 13th Episcopal District, Post Office Box 40987, Nashville, TN  37204.  If you are giving digitally, send it to Cash App $AMEC13.

Attached is a list of essential needs for the Waverly and Dickson communities for persons who want to give this way.    You may send these items to Greater Bethel AME Church 1300 South Street. Nashville, TN 37212, 615-256-1509, Rev. Walter W. Reid, Pastor.  Please let us know if you decide to send this way so we will make preparation to receive them.
