Governor Cuomo has been accused of sexually harassing multiple of his former aides and others with victims even stating they received unwanted physical, sexual contact from the Governor. Though all victims need to be validated and uplifted regardless of their experience, many of these individuals have courageously come forward with evidence and verification of their claims even pre-investigation into the matter. Sexual harassment and misconduct cannot and will not be tolerated, especially by our elected officials. This doesn’t even address the surfaced cover-up that the Governor intentionally misreported NYS nursing home deaths due to COVID-19, the threats of harm made by the Governor to elected officials holding him accountable, the Governor neglecting to address safety concerns with the Mario M. Cuomo (Tappan Zee) Bridge, and much more. Our demands are as follows: - Governor Cuomo: We demand your resignation immediately. You have utterly failed to serve the people of New York and you have directly hurt members of your own team who trusted you. If you cannot muster up the humility and moral compass to resign, the people will demand your impeachment. - All NYS Assemblymembers and Senators: This is a nonpartisan issue. We demand you publicly state your support of the Governor’s resignation as well as his impeachment if he refuses to resign. - NYS Democratic Party Chair Jay Jacobs: You are complicit in this toxic behavior. No amount of survey data on "public support" for the Governor (which is no longer the case) will excuse corruption, abuse of power, and sexual harassment. We demand you publicly state your support of the Governor’s resignation as well as impeachment. - NYS Attorney General Letitia James: We demand you maintain this investigation’s independence from the Governor’s office and any biased governmental or political influences. Enough is enough. New Yorkers must come together across political divides to restore respect and humanity into our government. We owe this to the victims, and we owe to ourselves a government that genuinely serves the people. | |||||||||||||||
