Last call! Sign up for this week's training

Update from Colombia
Last week three PPFers landed in Colombia and have been meeting with our partners at IPC, local journalists, and others working to uphold the peace process. In one conversation they heard from a local independent journalist who shared with them a video of when he was attacked with a gas canister by law enforcement for his reporting. Many journalists and young people, in particular, have endured horrific police violence for defending their basic human rights.

At the end of the presentation he looked at Joey and said, "The US government is helping to fund the police force."

Read more about the repression of Colombia's citizens who have been in the streets demanding their human rights since the uprising began in April.

PPF will host a conversation with those who traveled on
Sept. 8 at 7pm ET.
Last Call: Training for Guns to Gardens
This Thursday, Aug 19 at 3pm ET we will be hosting a training for anyone interested in participating in this national disarming event.

You don't have to wait on your elected officials to take action on gun violence. We can take action today and work to disarm our communities.

All you need is one good chop saw. Even one firearm disarmed is a contribution to peacemaking. Hear Deanna say a little more about her experience with a chop saw.

Help us reach our goal is to disarm 150 guns on September 4th — one gun for each year of the NRA’s existence.

Timothy Wotring to Emcee at Barstow Driver Celebration
Announcing Rev. Timothy Wotring to be the Emcee for this year's celebration.

Timothy is currently the pastor of the Memorial Presbyterian Church of Fox Chase in Philadelphia. He joined PPF in 2016 after going on a peace delegation to Iraqi Kurdistan led by PPF and Christian Peacemakers Teams. Timothy is an Activist Council member and currently serves on the PPF Executive Committee.

Don't miss this special event as we celebrate the work of Cheryl and Doug Hunt, honor the life of Tom Driver, and prepare ourselves to deepen our commitment to gun violence prevention.
