Deadly tornadoes across the US — pray with us

Emergency Appeal

A deadly string of tornadoes has raked across at least five U.S. states, with an estimated death toll of 100 or more in Kentucky alone. The governor of Kentucky called this “the most devastating tornado event in our state’s history.” Search-and-rescue efforts are underway in several states. To all our church partners in these impacted areas, we are especially praying for you and your communities as you seek ways to respond.

Tornadoes have left hundreds of thousands without power and many with devastating damage to their homes during the busy Christmas season. World Vision is on the ground helping to assess the impact and shipping emergency supplies to provide relief to those affected. The local church is one of our best partners in responding to emergencies like these.
Please pray with us for:
  • Safety for the many still missing.
  • Comfort for the families who have lost loved ones.
  • Strength for the committed rescuers who are working tirelessly to help others.
  • Churches in the impacted areas.
If you wish to support survivors of U.S. disasters like this, we invite you to donate to our U.S. Disaster Response Fund.

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea. —Psalm 46:1-2 (NIV)
