Change.org Petition: Rape victim denied abortion - Protect Abortion Rights in Ohio

Content warning: this petition discusses rape and abortion.

Ohio abortion rights are under fire. After overturning Roe, a trigger law went into effect in Ohio. This law banned abortion at six weeks. A judge issued a pause on the ban - but, this pause expires in two weeks. In the meantime, two minors who were raped have been denied access to an abortion. Pro Choice with Heart started their petition because they know action is needed now to protect abortion access in Ohio. They’re calling on Ohio legislators to codify reproductive rights into the state constitution. You can help in this critical moment by signing the petition now.

The Supreme Court has made the decision to overturn Roe v. Wade. Roe was the only protection women had to control their own bodies in the USA- and now it’s gone.

After Roe was overturned, a trigger law was prompted that banned abortion after around 6 weeks of pregnancy in Ohio. This trigger law makes Ohio one of the most restrictive places to seek an abortion. This is why it is more important than ever to speak up. This ban is one that allows no exceptions for rape or incest. This would also ban most abortions before women know they are pregnant.

Join us in calling on your state representatives and senators to codify reproductive rights in the state constitution, one of the only sure ways we can guarantee abortion remains legal for those who need it.
