Thirteen United States servicemembers were killed during an attack at the Abbey Gate of Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul, Afghanistan on August 26, 2021. Three of the servicemembers killed in the attack were pursuing higher education as students within the American Public University System (American Military University). Sergeant Nicole Gee, USMC Corporal Hunter Lopez, USMC Hospitalman Maxton Soviak, USN Dr. Wade T. Dyke (President-APUS), please honor these fallen servicemembers by posthomously awarding them their respective degrees. They have made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation and are most deserving of this honor. | |||||||||||||||
