The 296th Monday Prayer for Peaceful Unification of North and South Korea, hosted by the Presbyterian Church in the Republic of Korea, was held in conjunction with the World Council of Churches 11th Assembly.

Prayers centered around the hope that efforts for peace on the Korean Peninsula will serve as a cornerstone for peaceful coexistence in the Asia-Pacific region and the world.

“The Presbyterian Church in Korea has been carrying out the ministry of reconciliation entrusted to us by God and has been continuing to pray for reconciliation and reunification between the north and the south,” reads a message from the Presbyterian Church in Korea. “Our prayer meeting will continue until the day when the Korean Peninsula is reunified.”
