Due to the war that is now taking place in Ukraine, the situation in the city of Mariupol is one of the most difficult ones. It’s been 12 days since people in Mariupol have been left without water, food, electricity, heating and mobile connection. The city is constantly under attacks, and houses are being destroyed. People can’t get out from under the fire. A lot of old people have died because of heart attacks, and children are dehydrated because of no access to water. One child passed away because of dehydration on Monday! Mariupol is going through hell at the moment! And in this hell is now my 25-year-old daughter, who did not want to leave the city as she wanted to stay and help her elderly aunt and decided to stay with her in the city. Together with her friends she was also helping other residents of Mariupol by delivering water and food. She was helping everyone as much as she could. I don’t even know if she’s still alive... In recent days, there was news about the humanitarian corridors opening for evacuating residents of Ukraine. But as buses with civilians were trying to leave, they were targeted by the Russian army. The evacuation of civilians from Mariupol has been thwarted, and over 400,000 people are being held hostage! We are tired of asking. Now we DEMAND from the authorities of Ukraine, Russia and from the International community to negotiate and agree on the immediate evacuation of Mariupol residents. Ukraine is first of all PEOPLE, and then a territory! | |||||||||||||||
