SIGN ON TO THE 5 MORAL STANDARDS FOR CLIMATE FINANCE By now, you’ve probably heard and read about the latest IPCC report. Climate change and its impacts are getting worse. There’s a widening gap between what needs to be done and what is currently being done. Along with the other crises we are experiencing worldwide, this kind of news can feel crushing. We acknowledge and honor the collective grief and pain we are all feeling. We know that there is a pathway forward that leads to a just and sustainable future. Grassroots leaders and other experts have been very clear: no more fossil fuels, a rapid decline in coal, oil and gas, and a powerful upsurge in renewable energy. Financial institutions play a vital role in this transition because they bankroll all new energy projects - for good or ill. Let’s take one step forward for the good together today, by affirming the five moral standards for asset managers. Then, share this form and ask others to join in solidarity for the world we know is possible. A faith-based delegation will deliver these to BlackRock and Vanguard, the two largest asset managers, at the Annual General Meetings in April. Together, we show up for a better world. In the words of our colleague Meryne Warah upon reading the report, “Let’s dig in.” Our shared values of love, justice, and redemption, are exactly what the world needs right now. In solidarity and hope, The GreenFaith Team |
In this blog, we'll look at how men and women at serving Jesus Christ both at home and abroad. We'll focus on how God is using their work to transform the lives of people all over the world.
