Helping Hands at Work After Storms Plow Through Iowa
Ron Newmire was watching TV at home on Aug. 10 when a violent windstorm, known as a derecho, blew through Iowa. The next thing he knew, tree limbs were plunging through the roof like deadly spears. They landed just inches from his head as he fled through the house looking for safety.

When the storm finally subsided, Ron was grateful to be alive, but his home had suffered significant damage. He was relieved and encouraged when a large group of Samaritan's Purse volunteers arrived a few days later to help him. They tarped and chainsawed—and also made Ron laugh again.
“It's just amazing…I've never had this kind of help—ever before,” Ron said. “People that pour their hearts out, you know that God and Jesus are behind them, there's no other way this could ever happen.”
Please pray for recovering families in Iowa and our teams as they serve in Jesus' Name.
