Her death makes Riah at least the 14th trans person killed in 2020. Countless newspapers even misgendered Riah in reporting her story. Thousands have signed this petition, calling for justice for Riah. Just this week, Riah Milton (25) was found dead as a result of a gunshot wound. It is reported that Milton was lured into the apparent robbery of her own car. It is unclear if the incident was a hate crime or not. Riah Milton, who is transgender, has already been misgendered and dead named by local law officials and media outlets. With all that’s going on, it would be easy for Riah to fade into obscurity. I made this petition in an effort to keep her case out of the darkness, in hopes that those with influence will bring her to justice.
