Responding in Jesus’ Name to Hurricane Laura
Disaster relief teams from Samaritan's Purse have arrived in southwest Louisiana to begin clean-up work and make emergency repairs following Hurricane Laura, which slammed into the Gulf Coast Aug. 27 as an immense Category 4 storm.

Our staff on the ground report widespread damage, with trees and power lines blown down and roofs shredded in multiple communities. Officials say it may be weeks before power and water service will be restored. One of the churches that we hoped to use as a base of operations was seriously damaged.
Our teams are setting up in two locations—Lake Charles and DeRidder—where we will soon begin working to clear debris, patch roofs, and most importantly, share the hope of the Gospel of Jesus Christ with homeowners who have lost everything. As our work progresses, we will need an army of volunteers. If you or your church or group can help, please sign up at spvolunteer.org. The prayers and support of believers like you make this work possible. Thank you, and may God bless you.
Sincerely,
