Who gets stimulus relief? Take Action

SojoAction Alert
The COVID-19 pandemic is raging, and many in our communities are getting sick and struggling to make ends meet. As Congress is debating the next stimulus and recovery bill, we need your support in contacting your members of Congress today to make sure that money gets to the people and places that need it most. This is a faith imperative.
Email Congress
It takes two minutes to email your elected officials with a predrafted message. Join us in asking Congress to support:
  • People who are hungry. We want money to go to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) so that recipients’ benefits are increased by 15% and SNAP can provide more food to those who are hungry.
  • Our neighbors abroad. Extreme poverty around the globe is on the rise because of COVID-19. We want Congress to provide $12 billion in international assistance to fight the global pandemic.
  • A free, fair, and safe election. COVID-19 threatens the integrity of the 2020 elections. We’re asking Congress to send $3.6 billion to support states as they prepare for the election, so no citizen has to choose between their health and their right to vote.
  • Combating systemic racism. The toll of this pandemic is disproportionately affecting people of color most. States must have money to address these inequalities and to continue, not cut, community services such as health care and education.
This bill is being discussed this week, and using your voice now can make a difference. Please urge Congress to prioritize getting desperately needed resources to our communities that need it most.
Email Congress
Thank you for taking action!
In faith,
Rev. Adam R. Taylor
Executive Director
