Spring Has Sprung: Update for Hunger Action Congregations

Dear Friends in Christ,
Image result for Hunger Action CongregationsI hope and trust that you are safe and healthy ~ and energized to bring more love, justice and peace to our beautiful, hurting world. Thank you for being in partnership with us and the church universal to inch ever closer to God’s vision of shalom – even when things may appear to be heading in the opposite direction. They don’t call us People of Faith for nothing!
As things warm up, there is greater flux with more flow and opportunities for positive change. May we forge forward fearing not and take advantage of the opportunities that new growth offers us. Here are five updates that you and your congregation may interested in.

Joining Hands No Longer a Teenager. Just turned 20!

See the 20th anniversary dedicated webpage and please subscribe so you don’t miss the Together for Justice blog posts.

Climate Action for Faith Communities ~ now available!

4-session study on climate action for faith communities, with video and discussion guides, produced by Texas Impact. Includes exploring the UN climate talks process, how hunger and climate relate, and much more.

Rollbacks: An Assault Against Life on Earth film

A free 28-minute video resource on recent federal rollbacks on key environmental protection policies. Congregations and groups may take note that while this video has vital information to share, it could feel partisan so please review for your own context before sharing. We do not endorse any party or candidate, even as we take a strong stance based on PCUSA policies to have federal protections in place for environmental resources.

Official Streaming Launch

The Presbyterian Disaster Assistance presents  Flint: The Poisoning of an American City, which illuminates the contributing factors and repercussions of contaminated drinking water in Flint, Michigan. See the article here.  “We hope this film inspires people to advocate for clean water everywhere and encourages people to investigate their own water sources,” said Cameron Stevens, an associate for Constituency Relations for PDA.
