Change.org Petition: Insulin Is A Human Right

Change.org

What if four companies controlled access to 90% of all water sources and forced you to pay $100 for a bottle of water? That is exactly what has happened to insulin, a life-saving medication for people with diabetes. Without insulin, people with type 1 diabetes will die. Four companies maintain strict control on the production of insulin and make billions in sales every year — while continuing to inflate the price. Sign Miya’s petition to tell insulin production companies they can’t profit from people’s survival anymore.

If I run out of insulin, I will die. That’s it, simple as that. My body cannot produce insulin, and insulin is essential to life. Insulin is a human right and they’re killing us by making the prices so high. Even today in 2022, there are diabetics without insulin. Our ability for diabetics and non diabetics to remain alive is based on a liquid. That most of us do not have access too.

Some are not able to afford it, not have access to it. Even with the cheapest insulin it’s still so hard to get access to it. Imagine if your life was determined by a liquid that was sold for profit.

If I run out of insulin, I will die. Simple as that.
