Updates on Flooding in the KwaZulu-Natal Province from the 19th Episcopal District; Join the 19th District Lay in Prayer at 7:30PM SAST/1:30PM EST

Recent floods in KwaZulu-Natal have led to more than 440 persons dead, Over 6,000 homes have been destroyed with 8,0000 dwellings damaged. Persons are still without electricity and power in this region, home to Durban, the third-largest city in South Africa with over 3 million people in the eThikwini metropolitan area.

While no AME Churches have been destroyed, several churches have experienced major flooding and several members have had damage to their homes with dozens more forced to relocate due to the situation see photos above)

The 19th Episcopal is engaged in relief efforts and is asking for persons able to contribute financially to assist in sending relief supplies to the communities and churches that were impacted. Donations can be made to paypal.me/19thEpiscopal.
