GreenFaith - Tell Bank of America: Don’t fund Formosa!

Banks and asset managers continue to invest trillions of dollars into infrastructure that destroys and pollutes our environment. This willful damage to the planet harms people. It is wrong.

Sign the petition to tell Bank of America: climate finance matters.

We need people of faith and spirit to raise their voices and demand that business and finance stop the harm and instead invest in a just transition with green jobs and no more fossil fuels.

GreenFaith is partnering with Rise St. James a Black, faith-led effort to Stop Formosa Plastics from building another petrochemical facility in St. James Parish known as “Cancer Alley”. The community of St. James Parish, Louisiana is one of the most polluted communities in the United States, with cancer rates soaring above the national average.

Now Formosa wants to add even more toxicity?  Not on our watch.

Tell Bank of America: Don’t fund Formosa!

GreenFaith is committed to supporting frontline communities like Rise St. James to push back against extractive industries and the banks that finance these terrible projects. Two weeks ago, GreenFaith representatives in Charlotte, NC delivered a petition of more than 100,000 signatures from around the US to the Bank of America headquarters, demanding that they commit to not funding this project. We are continuing to add signatures prior to Bank of America’s shareholders meeting on Tuesday, April 26.

Sign here and make your voice heard loud and clear: climate justice, now.

On Tuesday the 26th we will gather with Sharon LaVigne, founder of Rise St. James, and other organizational leaders including Earthworks, Friends of the Earth, Rainforest Action Network and more. We will vigil, pray, speak, and sing, signaling our commitment to stand in solidarity with Rise St. James and frontline communities around the world who are fighting for safe, healthy communities.

Thank you for your support in this work.

In solidarity,

Rev. Amy Brooks

GreenFaith US Organizer

P.S. GreenFaith is committed to supporting frontline communities like Rise St. James to push back against extractive industries and the banks that finance these unjust projects. Will you support our work by making an Earth Day donation? We can’t do this without you, Rev..
