Divestment, Abolition and more at this year's General Assembly of the PC(USA)

Support Divestment, Abolition & more at this year's General Assembly
The Presbyterian Peace Fellowship has played an important role for decades in the General Assembly of the PC(USA) as the church gathers to consider policy and social witness across our denomination.

This year the assembly will be hybrid due to COVID, some of it happening in person in Louisville, KY and much happening virtually.
The dates for the assembly are June 18 - July 9, 2022
This makes being a part of GA with PPF even more accessible to many!
We are assembling a digital team to ensure that we can connect with commissioners and delegates about why we think it's so important that this be the year we divest from Fossil Fuels, that this be the year we have serious conversation and discernment about the church's role in abolition, that this be the year that we multiply the number of congregations who are involved in the Guns2Gardens campaign and the Peace Church movement.

It's a great opportunity for you to learn some digital organizing skills that are applicable to any congregation or social movement work you do elsewhere. We'll provide some training along the way. Sign up and we'll be in touch soon with next steps to gather our team.
You've got the power
"You've Got the Power!" Digital Training for General Assembly 2022
As we gear up for General Assembly we are offering some trainings focused on organizing skills that will help us advocate for what we care about. Listen in on the first training above which outlines the GA process and offers a power analysis of how business gets done at GA.

What's happening at GA this summer?
From fossil fuel divestment, to foreign and military policy, to gun violence prevention, immigration and more, PPFer Marilyn White has offered an early overview of issues that will be coming before the assembly this summer.

PPF will develop position papers as we get closer to the summer and share those broadly.
