The one-month countdown starts now!

GreenFaith Logo

One month from today, on 11 March, grassroots people of diverse religions around the world will carry out a multi-faith, global day of climate action - Sacred People, Sacred Earth.

You can do this! Get information here about how to organize your local action.

Even if you’re facing a COVID lockdown, there are plenty of ways to take action. Check out our new “Making an Impact Close to Home” resource.

There are awesomely creative actions being planned. People just like you are calling for concrete and bold climate commitments from governments, financial institutions, and their own religious communities.

In Florida, US, churches near the state capitol will be ringing their bells for 15 minutes calling on the state to pass bold climate change legislation.

Over 80 religious institutions across Australia are ringing their bells, sounding gongs and chimes, calling on their national government to end its support for fossil fuels.

In multiple events across Nigeria, people of diverse faiths are calling on their government to commit to 100% clean energy for all, an end to oil and gas development, and a welcome for farmers and herders displaced by climate change.

The list goes on. Everywhere we look, passionate people from a rainbow range of religious backgrounds are making it clear that the time for action is now.

In the coming days, you’ll hear more and more from us about actions taking place around the globe and how you can take part.

11 March is just the beginning of a new, grassroots movement. This community is made up of people of different religions but a common commitment to protecting the planet, and to a just and equitable future. It’s a special group and we invite you to join us.

From Chile to Canada, Australia to Africa, the religious grassroots is rising. 11 March is the beginning of something special. I hope that you’ll be with us.
