SoJo Action Alert - Take action: The right to vote is under attack

SojoAction Alert
With the 2020 presidential election on the horizon, and new challenges stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic, the right to vote is under attack. If you care about our democracy, now is the time to act.
Take Action
We believe that voting is a sacred right and that people’s ability to exercise that right is fundamental to the health and integrity of our democracy and country. Sadly, the United States is woefully unprepared for November and millions of people are at risk of not being able to freely, fairly, and safely exercise their vote in this year’s election.
Join a broad and diverse group of denominational leaders from across the church who sent a letter today calling on Congress to provide bold leadership, to ensure that the 2020 election can be free, fair, and safe. We need your help to flood congressional offices with supportive messages from you, their constituents. Our goal is for at least 10,000 people to take action!
Take Action
Every American should have an equal voice in our democracy. However, voter suppression efforts that have targeted black and brown communities in recent elections have tipped and stolen too many outcomes. That has to change in 2020. Sojourners is working tirelessly to protect voter rights and ensure that a free, fair, and safe election takes place in November. Together we can ensure that every voter is able to exercise their right to vote in the 2020 election—especially those who are most at risk of encountering voter suppression efforts.
This is not a partisan issue. This is an American issue. Our democracy is on the line.
If we don’t act soon, it will be too late to ensure that the adequate planning and preparations are in place—which is why it is crucial for you to contact your member of Congress today, to ensure that additional funding and implementation are included in the next coronavirus stimulus package.
In faith,
Rev. Adam Taylor
Executive Director
