The 224th General Assembly (2020) of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) convenes on Saturday, June 20 and concludes on Saturday, June 27. Our General Assembly (G.A.) is both exhilarating and challenging, filled with concerns from across the church and filled with blessed servant leaders and Spirit-filled moments. Worship and music, speeches and awards, breakfasts and lunches all add to the excitement of this bi-annual event.

  • Juneteenth, June 19, 2020 Juneteenth -- a blending of the words June and nineteenth -- is the oldest known US celebration of the end of slavery. It commemorates June 19, 1865. That's the day that Union Maj. Gen. Gordon Granger rode into Galveston, Texas, and told slaves of their emancipation from slavery.
  • Thursdays in Black – this global movement of the World Council of Churches, encourages us to wear black on Thursdays in resistance to rape and gender-based violence. Black is used as a color of resistance and resilience.
