Change.org - 76-year-old grandmother sent back to prison

A 76-year-old grandmother named Gwen Levi didn’t pick up her phone during a computer class. Now she’s in prison, and scores of people are calling for her release. Gwen had been released early from jail last year amidst the COVID pandemic. But because she couldn’t answer a phone call from prison officials during class, they’ve sent her back to prison for violating the terms of her release. Petition starter Euphemia is now demanding that Gwen be set free and allowed to return to her family.

Release Gwen Levi

Gwen Levi, a 76 year old grandmother who was on early release due to Covid, was reincarcerated due to not answering a phone call while she was attending a training class. The Federal Bureau of Prisons new exactly where she was because she was wearing an ankle monitor. They are saying that because she didn’t answer the phone she could have been robbing a bank. Since her release Ms. Levi has been doing everything she was supposed to, to prove that she can be a productive member of society. Release this woman and let her return to her family.
