With World Immunization Week approaching, the World Council of Churches (WCC) intensifies its long-time engagement in health-related issues. On Wednesday, 28 April at 3 pm CET, a half-hour online media briefing will be held to present the latest WCC initiatives to meet health challenges across the globe. This includes the appointment of Vaccination Champions, as well as the Health-promoting Churches Handbook and other tools designed to facilitate implementation of life-saving vaccination programmes and other health initiatives.

After a 15-minute presentation, questions will be answered by a panel consisting of:

  • WCC deputy general secretary Prof. Dr Isabel Apawo Phiri.
  • WCC president for Europe Archbishop emeritus Dr Anders Wejryd, who also serves as a Vaccination Champion.
  • Dr Mwai Makoka, WCC programme executive for Health and Healing.

The WCC cordially invites you to learn more about our comprehensive Health and Healing programme, with particular focus on our engagement in World Immunization Week and the opportunity it offers to ramp up support for COVID-19 vaccination programmes and other initiatives.

Looking forward to seeing you online, we kindly ask you to accredit yourself by email to media@wcc-coe.org with your name and your media outlet and we will revert with a zoom-link prior to the briefing.
