A major Qanon convention is coming to Dallas during Memorial Day weekend. Many Americans believe Qanon is a dangerous cult whose presence shouldn’t be supported by the city. Qanon activists called for overturning the 2020 election and were heavily involved in the U.S. Capitol insurrection. Petition starter Colleen thinks Dallas needs to stand up to Qanon by refusing to host the cult in a hotel that’s owned by the city. She needs your signature now. The Big Lie and other baseless conspiracy theories are coming to Dallas’ Omni Hotel on Memorial Day weekend. Billed as “The For God and Country Patriot Roundup” guest speakers include Michael Flynn, Trump attorney Sidney Powell and others the FBI have deemed domestic terrorists who incited the insurrection at the Capitol on January 6th. The Omni is owned by the city of Dallas and therefore our tax dollars are supporting this? No. Also consider the extra expense and stress on our already short staffed police force/security, as there are sure to be protestors. It’s time to move forward from the lies of the past four years to better days. This event has no business happening in our city, let alone at our hotel. Please, use common sense and decency and do not allow this event to happen. There is a difference between free speech and perpetrating dangerous lies from the mouths of dangerous people.
