Balanced Buddha Spa & Wellness is a full service spa in Sligo. We offer lash extensions, manicures, pedicures, foot detox, sauna, full body waxing, facials, chemical peels, reiki, vibrational sound healing, sound baths and some massage.
We call our give back organization Balanced Buddha Gives Back. Community give back is so important to us and we help out wherever we can and where we see a need. Some things we have been doing and are working on:
Every 3 months we do a FREE clothing giveaway to anyone in need.
Hurricane relief donation items. We give items donated to a trucking company (friend from Erie) and he transports the items to the American Red Cross to help those affected.
FREE used toy giveaway. Right before Christmas we have set up a used toy giveaway to families with children in need.
Pageants with a purpose! We held a pageant in September to raise funds for TNR of the Sligo area stray cats. We raised over $1000 which went to Precious Paws to spay/neuter area cats.
We held a pageant in November to bring in toys for underprivileged students in Union school district. It was a success and we brought in over 900 toys for the kids christmas gifts. We also collected over $1000 for the TNR Sligo cat fund.
We trap Sligo and surrounding area cats weekly and take them every Tuesday and sometimes Thursdays to Precious Paws spay/neuter/trap/return clinic. Feral cats are released and friendly cats are fostered. The cats that are adoptable are dewormed and brought to better health and then placed on our website for adoption. We ask a $45 adoption fee by way of check written to Precious Paws so we can continue to do TNR in our area. We have successfully gotten over 50 kittens off the streets of Sligo and in homes. We have spayed/neutered over 40 cats in Sligo and we continue to trap weekly.
Our upcoming pageant is set for February and we are collecting items for Clarion Kindness Project which benefits families in need, babies/toddlers in need of personal care items and diapers wipes etc.
We offer FREE spa days for underprivileged kids and kids going through a hard time of Union school district. They get a mini head spa, facial, manicure, hair tinsel and style. The school provides us with kids and we schedule them wherever we can.
For our next pageant we would like to do it FREE of charge for underprivileged kids in Union School district. Through talking with Melissa the guidance counselor at the school, she believes the teachers and staff would be willing to sponsor students to pay for the crowns and sashes. I am curious if the church would be willing to let us hold the pageant in one of your larger rooms? I am thinking 25 girls, possibly 30 if we get enough sponsors. The pageants typically last a few hours and we hold them on the weekends either saturday or sunday. May is the month I'm thinking to hold it.
