Thankful for the Beloved Community Adam Russell Taylor 2021 has been a year of uncertainty, big changes, and new beginnings. Experiencing my first year as president of Sojourners during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has brought its share of challenges, though they have been punctuated by moments of providence, grace, and joy. As we gather with our loved ones and enjoy some much-needed sabbath rest, we at Sojourners have much to be thankful for. I'm thankful for our increasingly multifaith and multiracial coalition Faiths United to Save Democracy that is working to protect the sacred right to vote, as well as our relentless advocacy to pass the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act and the Freedom to Vote Act. I'm thankful for our work with the Circle of Protection — a broad coalition of Christian organizations advocating on behalf of those in poverty — that has led to the expanded Child Tax Credit and the passage of the COVID relief and infrastructure bills. I’m thankful for all of our work equipping pastors and church leaders to address immigrant rights and our broken policing and criminal justice systems. I'm thankful for our top-notch editors, who excel in producing thoughtful journalism and commentary on faith, politics, culture, and justice in Sojourners magazine and at sojo.net — and I'm so thankful for the dozens of awards they received for that work this year. Most of all, I'm deeply humbled and thankful for all of you who read our work and share it, take action through our alerts and campaigns, support Sojourners financially, and for all the other ways that you make our work possible. Thank you for being such an important part of our Beloved Community and your continued support as we enter into this next season of Sojourners’ mission and work together! With thanksgiving, Adam
