Restoring Life from Palestine to the U.S. to Colombia

This Pentecost, the Presbyterian Peace Fellowship is raising $12,000 to support our ongoing work to end gun violence, accompany our partners in Colombia and Mexico, build a network of peace churches, and more.

We will split half of all the money we raise with our accompaniment partners in the Presbyterian Church of Colombia (IPC). As police brutality rages in Colombia, in the midst of the still-raging pandemic, it is as clear as ever that peacebuilding efforts are urgent and also needed long-term; it's an honor to support our Colombian partners as they do this transformative, generational work.

No Air
"There is no air between the treatment of Palestinians under the Israeli occupation, and the treatment of Black or indigenous people in the United States. There is shared history, shared ideology, shared methods, and a shared path to liberation. When I look at the recent resurgence of violence by ultra-nationalist settlers and by the state of Israel, and particularly of the horrific consequences of that violence upon the Palestinian people I truly understand what it means to say that no one is free until all of us are free."

PPF Co-Moderator Rev. Aric Clark writes of the connections between the struggles for liberation in Palestine and the U.S. in "No Air" for the PPF blog.

How Can We Restore Life Like in Ezekiel?
What is the work of restoration before us after a year in the valley of death from COVID, from murders by police, from mass shootings? What needs to be restored to life like God restored life to the dry bones in the book of Ezekiel?

PPF Defund the Police Organizer Rev. Ashley Bair led a thought-provoking Pentecost Bible Study last week as part of our Pentecost campaign. You can watch it in full on our YouTube channel and support work like this with a donation today.

We're Hiring
Can you help spread the word, or maybe even apply to be the one to join our staff team? PPF is seeking a remote, half-time Manager of Communications and Digital Organizing.

We're looking for someone who is able to communicate with a theological lens about social issues, someone experienced in community organizing, and someone committed to nonviolence, antiracism, and equity. Share the posting! Applications are due by June 1.

Join the Alternative Migrant Trail Walk
Join the Alternative Migrant Trail Walk - a week of community and education focused on border solidarity May 30-June 6. Registration fees will (in part) support CAME, our partner for accompaniment in Agua Prieta. Sliding scale registration available.

If you sign up for the Migrant Trail experience, you are also welcome to join the PPF cohort. A drop-in space will be available for processing and connecting with other PPFers on May 31 and June 3 at 2:00pm ET. Share what you’re learning and feeling as you virtually walk with others supporting migrants.
