Join Bill McKibben and unleash moral power against fossil fuels

GreenFaith Logo

Not only is fossil fuel pollution the primary cause of climate change; it’s also responsible for 1 in 5 deaths worldwide. These are precious lives and preventable deaths - sacred breath snuffed out for the sake of profits.

That’s why one of our Ten Demands is no new fossil fuel infrastructure. Join our May 19 call at 12 noon and 7 pm ET for moral inspiration and to learn about our why.

Author and longtime friend Bill McKibben will join us as religious activists from the US and Africa will call us to act. You’ll connect with allies in small groups and we’ll commit to action, together.

Soon, the GreenFaith community will be unleashing multi-faith power to reject a raft of proposed fossil fuel projects. From Enbridge’s Line 3 in Minnesota to the East Africa Pipeline in Uganda and Tanzania, our grassroots, multi-faith community is gearing up to put faith into action.

On May 19, connect with our community’s moral heartbeat and get involved.

For more than five years, the research has been crystal clear. If we are to respect nature’s God-given limits, the world can afford absolutely no new coal, oil, or gas infrastructure.

Five years ago, because of moral pressure, every major fossil fuel company paid lip service to climate action at the Paris climate talks. But as a multi-faith community, here’s our take: actions speak louder than words.

Since the Paris Agreement, oil and gas companies have spent over $3 trillion on fossil fuel infrastructure. This same industry has secured increasing amounts of bank financing every year since the Paris Agreement except in 2020 - thanks to COVID-related drops in demand.

This number is stunning. A recipe for environmental destruction. A formula for human suffering. A moral disgrace.

Now is the time to act. Join us on May 19 for your GreenFaith community’s first step in opposing new fossil fuel infrastructure.

The world is too small for anything but compassion, love, and justice. Without question, that means no more fossil fuel infrastructure. Help us make it so.

In faith and solidarity,

Rev. Fletcher and the GreenFaith Team
