The U.S election is 50 days away and if you have not engaged yet, now is the time! In this election, we need to make sure that people of faith and spirit vote with compassion. As communities of faith and spirit, we acknowledge the importance of being in right relationship with each other and the earth; it's illustrated in all of our faith and spiritual traditions.
This Wednesday, join us for our Compassionate Voter Captain call.
When: Wednesday, Sept 16th at 5:30pm ET (2:30 PT/3:30 MT/4:30 CT)
Where: Register on Zoom here.
Who: You! Join us with your friends!! Please feel free to pass along the invitation. (I’ll bring a few as well)
On the call, we’ll discuss the connections between voter suppression, climate change, and the need to vote compassionately. At Greenfaith we believe that having relational conversations with members of our communities is key to shaping the just society we all desire to see. Our actions can turn that hope into a reality little by little, conversation by conversation. So join us as we share ways to have conversations about voting compassionately this election season with some supportive tools.
We know that this election will be like none we have ever seen before. With increased voter suppression and intimidation, climate fueled disasters like flooding, smoky skies, and fires, all compounded with COVID-19, it will be much harder to cast an in person vote. We’ll be giving you the resources you need to vote safely, and inform others of how to vote safely.
This is work of faith and there’s a lot to be done in a short amount of time. Let’s put our hearts, minds, and hands together to vote compassionately in this election and turn out as many compassionate voters as we can.
Hope to see you on Wednesday.
In hope and solidarity,
Louis Romain, GreenFaith Organizer
P.S. We are now accepting applications for our GreenFaith Fellowship program. Our GreenFaith Fellowship is a 10 month fellowship that brings together people of faith from around the world to learn about eco-theology and organizing. Find out more and apply to the fellowship here.
