Disaster Relief Units Head to Storm-Stricken South

Samaritan's Purse disaster relief teams have been deployed to Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, and South Carolina to help families recover from a wave of deadly tornadoes that slashed through the South on Easter Sunday and Monday. At least 24 people have died, hundreds of houses and buildings have been ripped apart, and over a million homes and businesses are without electricity.
Disaster relief units will be based in Monroe, Louisiana; Laurel, Mississippi; Chattanooga, Tennessee; and Seneca, South Carolina, to help those storm-ravaged communities. We will be working with churches to organize and equip local volunteers to tarp roofs, clean debris, and remove fallen trees. “As many communities are asked to stay at home, my heart breaks for families that now have nowhere to go—losing loved ones and homes in a matter of minutes,” Franklin Graham said. “Samaritan's Purse is coming alongside them to help families physically start to recover from the tornadoes while reminding them that God loves them and they are not forgotten. Please join me in praying for God's peace and comfort to cover them.”
The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.
