Presbyterian Justice & Peace - Anticipating resurrection and renewal

This has been a Lent like no other, as many of us are in relative isolation with a small circle of family and loved ones, all to curb the spread of a deadly disease. Caring for one another by staying apart is new to most of us. As we enter Holy Week, we are finding new ways to worship and reach out as we look forward to resurrection and renewal. In this edition of the Justice and Peace Monthly, you will find numerous ways that the Compassion, Peace & Justice ministries are responding to the COVID-19 pandemic, from providing financial relief to resources and expertise in this time that we pray will quickly pass.

PDA ready to make COVID-19 grants thanks to One Great Hour of Sharing Presbyterian Disaster Assistance (PDA) announced it has pulled more than $2 million out of reserves it uses to supplement unsupported or under-supported disaster responses — a fund fortified in part by gifts to One Great Hour of Sharing — to help aid response to the coronavirus pandemic. PC(USA) corporate engagement committee calls on companies to support workers in COVID-19 crisis The Committee on Mission Responsibility Through Investment (MRTI) has joined nearly 200 signatories on a statement from global institutional investors urging companies to support workers and markets during the coronavirus pandemic.
