More than one thousand of us--people of faith and spirit--came together online every day in the last two weeks in our daily Faith Community Calls for Care and Resilience. Together, we paused and reflected, found spiritual respite, and shared ways to build a deeper community during this global COVID-19 crisis.
We are so grateful to you for being there.
Beginning this week and moving forward, we are shifting from a daily call to a weekly call, repeated at different times to accommodate our global GreenFaith members.
Please join us every Thursday, starting April 2nd, at either 11 am or at 4 pm New York Time (you can find your local time here.)
You said that you wanted deeper connections with each other, so we adjusted the format of the calls. We will spend the first 30 minutes of each call in spiritual reflection with a faith leader, and then break into smaller groups for an additional 30 minutes to deepen our relationships, and learn and share together how we can create local Circles: Communities of Care and Resilience.
The calls repeat at two different times every Thursday. We hope one of these times is convenient for you. You can find more information about them on our Facebook Event page as well.
For tomorrow’s reflection, we are joined by Imam Saffet Catovic, GreenFaith's Senior Islamic Advisor. Imam Catovic has led global efforts to promote fossil fuel divestment within the Muslim community, and is a founding board member of the Global Muslim Climate Network.
We look forward to spiritual respite and local action with you.
In faith,
Rev. Fletcher Harper and the entire GreenFaith team
P.S. In the last two weeks, you’ve generously shared the poems, prayers, and music that give you solace during this time. We curated and compiled them here: Spiritual Resources for Care and Resilience in the Time of Coronavirus. We hope they bring you some comfort.
