It’s 2021 and time to get to work!

At GreenFaith, we know that in 2021 we must be more aggressive than ever in combating the climate crisis and creating climate and environmental justice. To protect our communities and build the compassionate world we know is possible, we must double down on our efforts.

Join our call on January 20th to plug in on our 2021 efforts!

On that call, we’ll talk about how you can take part in the Sacred People, Sacred Earth Day of Action on March 11th and become a part of our movement to oppose injustice and hatred with resolute love-in-action toward people and planet.

This week, we saw violent fundamentalists attack the US capitol with tacit support from many of the police officers--who are supposed to keep us safe and protect our democracy. Unfortunately, this is not an isolated incident.

These types of fundamentalist attacks have been increasing across Latin America, the US, and many parts of the world over the last few years. The thirst for power at the root of the violence displayed in current US events is also what drives the pollution and desecration of our sacred earth.

The struggle to uphold democracy is interwoven with the struggle for climate and environmental justice. When communities are able to rightfully elect their leadership, when everyone gets a vote, and when marginalized communities are truly represented, we all rise together.

On March 11th, we have an opportunity to demonstrate that our climate justice movement is strong, united, beautiful, and bold. To combat the rise of hate, we must show a united front of love that protects all of our communities, no matter their race, religion, or nationality.

We chose January 20th as the date for this call because it coincides with the inauguration of US President-elect Joe Biden. There will likely be violent protests across the US and possibly even the world, which is why we believe it’s especially crucial to join together and plan a positive day of mobilization that will strike at the root causes of climate injustice with strategic action.

We hope you'll join us!

Our excitement continues to build for March 11th as hundreds of individuals, organizations, and congregations are putting their plans for action into place.

We look forward to seeing you on January 20th!

In faith and solidarity,

Meryne Warah
