On October 3, 2013 Miriam Iris Carey was shot and killed by unidentified officers of assigned to the United States Capitol Police and Secret Service Uniform Division in Washington, DC. Miriam was UNARMED with her 13 month baby in the backseat of her car at the time of the shooting. The preliminary and final investigations performed by the Metropolitan Police Department indicated Miriam violated no laws. [Secret Service ‘Willful’ Violations of Policies Caused Death of Miriam Carey http://buff.ly/1KsOjLM] Since that fateful day, the United States Department of Justice has refused to bring criminal or civil rights charges against the officers despite having clear evidence, they acted in a ’willful’ manner. To this day, unlike other similar police shootings where President Barack Obama, the United States Congress and Department of Justice called for and insisted there be FULL public disclosure of the documents and facts have refused provide FULL public disclosure of the documents and facts in Miriam’s case. WorldNet Daily (’Smoking-gun documents prove unarmed mom wrongly killed’ http://www.wnd.com/2015/06/smoking-gun-documents-prove-unarmed-mom-wrongly-killed/) and the Washington Post (How Miriam Carey’s U-turn at a White House Checkpoint Led to her Death http://www.washingtonpost.com/sf/style/2014/11/26/how-miriam-careys-u-turn-at-a-white-house-checkpoint-led-to-her-death/) investigations raises serious questions about the government’s official explanation about the shooting. Please join us in petitioning the White House, United States Congress and the United States Department of Justice to re-open the Department of Justice’s investigation into the ’avoidable’ shooting death of Miriam Iris Carey by United States Capitol Police and Secret Service and for the United States Congress to hold parallel Congressional Hearings about the surrounding circumstances of the shooting. Please join the Carey Family as we seek FULL public disclosure of the documents and the facts surrounding Miriam’s ’avoidable’ death by signing this petition.
