Seven years ago, Miriam Carey was shot and killed by Capitol Police in Washington, DC while trying to perform a U-turn. Her 13-month-old baby was in the backseat. No officer has been charged. On January 6th, the same Capitol Police force stood by as white mobs attacked the Capitol. Many are outraged at the stark contrast of police response compared to an unarmed Black woman. On October 3, 2013 Miriam Iris Carey was shot and killed by unidentified officers of assigned to the United States Capitol Police and Secret Service Uniform Division in Washington, DC. Miriam was UNARMED with her 13 month baby in the backseat of her car at the time of the shooting. The preliminary and final investigations performed by the Metropolitan Police Department indicated Miriam violated no laws.
