It’s time for us to rise together and make it utterly clear: the Earth and all people are sacred and at risk.
And because the global climate emergency requires a global, multi-faith response, people of diverse religions from around the world, at the grassroots, are coming together in a bold new way to work for climate justice.
On November 17 at 8:30 pm ET, join GreenFaith and our Canadian partners at Faith & the Common Good for a global TEDx event to kick off mobilizing for Sacred People, Sacred Earth - the biggest-ever grassroots, global, multi-faith, COVID-friendly climate action that will take place on March 11. This is part of Countdown - a special TEDx platform for climate action!
RSVP to reserve a spot for this TEDx.
Our religions envision a world transformed, in which humanity in all its diversity has developed a shared reverence for life on Earth, in which the era of conquest, extraction, and exploitation has given way to cooperation and community.
But across the world, more and more people are experiencing climate-fueled disasters first-hand. Droughts, floods, fires and hurricanes are displacing and impoverishing millions. COVID is cruelly worsening these impacts on our most vulnerable communities.
That’s why diverse, grassroots people of faith and conscience are coming together to demand real solutions and to lead by example. No more fossil fuel infrastructure, tropical deforestation or related financing. 100% renewable energy for everyone - particularly the 800 million people who lack energy access. Green jobs to rebuild the world’s infrastructure and to help everyday people recover from the COVID depression. Wealthy countries leading the way with commitments that reflect their responsibility for the crisis we face.
Beginning November 17, on a planet-spanning series of calls, we’ll be announcing a worldwide set of demands and plans for the biggest ever faith-based global day of action where we’ll sound the alarm for climate justice.
GreenFaith is proud to be among the founding grassroots partners in 14 countries coming together as the GreenFaith International Network to kick off this new era of global, multi-faith climate action. Beginning November 17, together we can build an unstoppable, global, grassroots, multi-faith movement.
A better world is possible and we won’t stop till we create it together.
In faith and solidarity -
Rev. Fletcher Harper and the team at GreenFaith
