Tomorrow: inspiration for racial and environmental justice

Over the last couple weeks on the Faith Community Call for Care and Resiliencewe’ve gotten to hear from GreenFaith’s Malik Saafir and Nana Firman about Christian and Islamic teachings around standing up to racial injustice. We’ve been challenged, we’ve reflected, and we’ve been asked to think about the ways in which climate justice and racial justice are connected.
And we’ve learned from each other that racism and injustice persist across the world, and that different members of our global GreenFaith community experience these issues in vastly different ways.
For this week’s Faith Community Call for Resilience on Thursday, June 18, we will continue to reflect on how we create a world in which everyone can breathe, find joy, and be free.

For the spiritual reflection, we are honored to welcome Pastor Jack Ogeda of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Nairobi, Kenya. Pastor Ogeda is GreenFaith Kenya’s new coordinator, a commissioner at the Inter-religious Council of Kenya, and active in UNEP’s Faith for the Earth program.
His teaching will center on the goodness of all creation -- Earth, Air, Water, Animals and People. “And God saw that it was very good.”
After years of interfaith work, we here at GreenFaith know this truth, stated in diverse ways, is shared by people everywhere. It is time to reclaim it and center it once again in our lives.
Please join us for the call that is most convenient for you. You can find your local time here.
These calls give us a chance for spiritual renewal and an opportunity to recommit every week to being a force for love, justice, and compassion. We hope you can join us on Thursday.
In faith,
Rev. Fletcher Harper
