As I write this, the United States is going through its first big heat wave of the year – and it’s only June. This is right on the heels of a punishing heat wave in India, flooding in Brazil and Central Asia. As we know, the high temperatures and excessive rainfall aren’t just annoying weather phenomena, they are deadly and damaging. One of the difficult parts of this time is knowing that extreme weather events are likely going to increase as the years go by. That means that we are in it for the long haul – and our grief practice becomes more important than ever. This practice is not only a way to honor and move through the heartache – our own and each other’s – but it also helps us learn how to keep showing up to the climate crisis and find new ways to navigate unknown territory. This summer, we’re on a slightly alternate schedule with Climate Grief Circles on July 8 and August 19. Please join us: Climate Grief Circle Climate Grief Circle I hope to see you at one or both of these circles! Please forward this email to a friend to spread the word. With gratitude, Rev. Chelsea MacMillan |
In this blog, we'll look at how men and women at serving Jesus Christ both at home and abroad. We'll focus on how God is using their work to transform the lives of people all over the world.
