GreenFaith - Jean-Pierre’s story gives me hope

Right now, the rich natural resources of the Democratic Republic of the Congo are under attack. Greedy corporations want to destroy its forests to extract oil, gas, and rare earth minerals. Meanwhile, local communities like Jean-Pierre’s suffer. They lose access to firewood and clean water, and land where their families have lived for generations. Often, they get no compensation in return.

In response, Jean-Pierre, a GreenFaith activist and pastor, has organized 16 GreenFaith Circles, gathering local people of faith together to protect their community from predatory extraction. His work is visionary, bold, and exactly the thing we need, and your support makes his work possible.

Everyone has the right to a safe and healthy environment. GreenFaith works with Jean-Pierre and other courageous grassroots faith activists around the globe to protect that right. But we can’t do it alone.

With your help, we can uplift the voices of our community members around the globe who are fighting for a better future for us all. We need to raise $10,000 by May 15 to support their work. Can you donate today?

We each have a role to play to create a better future. By donating today, your Earth Day gift provides vital support to communities on the frontlines of the fight for climate justice. What better way to commemorate Earth Day than to support a climate defender?

Please donate today to amplify the voices of GreenFaith’s grassroots leaders.

The stakes have never been higher, but stories like Jean-Pierre’s give me hope. We are stronger together, and a just climate future is in reach. But it takes all of us.

With hope and determination,
Rev. Fletcher Harper
