Presbyterian Peace Fellowship - Roe overturned- this movement needs you.

Roe overturned
We have been waiting for this moment since May when we first heard about possibility of Roe being overturned by the US Supreme Court.

Even though we have been expecting it, the arrival of this news brings a new wave of emotion: fear, anger, grief...maybe even a sense of numbness or fog as we orient to this shift.

This movement needs you. Many in our nation seek to control bodies in the name of the Christian faith: bodies of color, trans and women's bodies, LGBTQ+ bodies. We must speak boldly in the name of Jesus who consistently challenged those in authority seeking to control the bodies of those who were marginalized in community.

This decision comes down as our General Assembly is meeting in Louisville. PPF is making a financial contribution to a Kentucky abortion fund and we invite you to take meaningful action in this time.

We are re-sharing this resource as you orient to this moment. Remember to follow those who have long-organized around reproductive justice, they have been preparing for this moment and they are ready for you!

We lift up all those in prayer who are impacted by this decision. Those who can become pregnant, health care workers, those who doula abortions, BIPOC and working people who we know are disproportionately impacted by this decision. May we all rise to meet this new vulnerability with courage, vision and strength.
We encourage people of faith to support front-line reproductive justice organizations and providers of reproductive health services, to support abortion funds and clinics, to educate and advocate for abortion rights and reproductive justice, to pray and act for justice, and to connect with local activists and organizations doing the work in your area.

Standing with you,

Lucy Waechter Webb
Manager of Communications and Digital Organizer

P.S. If you're looking for a march near you -- you might find one here.
