Bowen, shares an intimate moment of encouragement from God during a tender - and exhausting - time of life   I sighed as I stared at the telltale dark spots and wearily began pulling the wet sheets off the bed glancing at the clock as I moved quickly through the familiar routine. 4:30 am! Somewhere far away in my mind came a snippet of melody—8 notes—what were the words? “The love of God”… What was the message God was sending? Was the song a reminder to set aside my irritation at being awakened in the dark of an early weekend morning and show God’s love to my husband? Since 1973, there have been efforts to reach men who have been impacted by the loss of a child to abortion. The efforts did reach some of these men, but often times both awareness and healing programs were primarily focused on women. As a result, millions of men were left without an opportunity to find healing. In addition, the message from the culture was that men shouldn’t and don’t hurt from the loss of their child due to abortion. READ MORE HERE

ARE YOU CALLED TO SPIRITUAL CAREGIVING? It’s hard not to notice the graying of our population. In less than two decades, the graying of America will be inescapable. Older adults are projected to outnumber kids for the first time in U.S. history. Many care facilities are being built to meet this demand in my community, and likely in yours, too. For seniors living in them, life can be lonely. Some studies show that up to 60 percent of do not have regular visitors.  READ MORE HERE

MEET PPL BOARD MEMBER, REV. JONATHAN LEACH! Retired after 27 years in the US Army Reserve chaplaincy, Rev. Leach now pastors a mission church of the RPCNA (Covenanters) in San Antonio, Texas.  For 11 years as chaplaincy program director for a state-run intermediate-care facility in PA, he served over 400 adults with mental retardation and other developmental disabilities, as part of their caregiving team. Rev. Leach is also the newest author of PPL's Life Support prayer guide. Read more about our other board members here.

We have added to our goal, funds to re-publish one of our most popular resources: Pregnant With Promise, a 2010 Bible Study by Marie Bowen on the character of God as shown through the pregnancy stories of the Bible and funds to convert the Baby Chris blog series by Deborah Hollifield into book format.

Why the name "Baby Steps" campaign? It's simple. Many people feel a small gift is not enough to make a difference.
