Today the U.S. Senate approved a reconciliation bill that slashes food assistance, health care, and renewable energy, while giving more subsidies to fossil fuel corporations and more tax breaks to billionaires. 160+ faith leaders from across the country—Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, Unitarian Universalist and more—have spoken out: This bill is morally repugnant. It enshrines greed and injustice into law. It must be stopped. This morning, North Carolina faith leaders delivered a strong, public message to Senator Thom Tillis—urging him to hold his ground and continue opposing this bill on the national stage.
