SIGN UP! Gun Violence and the New Testament this Thursday

Join us this Thursday, July 24, 2025 at 12:00pm ET for our final webinar in a series featuring leading Christian scholars from around the country who are doing important work on some aspect of gun violence. This week the Dr. David Lincicum of the University of Notre Dame will help us consider what the New Testament has to say about gun ownership and the 2nd Amendment.

Dr. Lincicum is Associate Professor of Christianity and Judaism in Antiquity at the University of Notre Dame. He teaches and writes on the intersection of early Jewish, early Christian and New Testament studies. His research has especially focused on investigating early Christian and Jewish biblical interpretation, Pauline literature, and the history of interpretation.

The webinar will offer a rare chance for people of faith to hear from experts on gun violence who approach their work with the big questions of our faith: What does our faith call us to do about gun violence? How can the resources of our faith be a blessing in communities that suffer most from gun violence? In times of intense political polarization, how can people of faith promote community safety so that all can experience God’s peace and flourishing?
