WCC NEWS: Media invited to attend Emerging Peacemakers Forum graduation ceremony

Media are invited to attend the graduation ceremony of the Emerging Peacemakers Forum on 13 July in the Main Hall of the Ecumenical Centre in Geneva. The forum, organized in partnership between the Muslim Council of Elders, the World Council of Churches (WCC), and the Rose Castle Foundation, includes 50 young people from 24 countries.

The graduation ceremony will be broadcast live via www.oikoumene.org/live 

The program will feature words of welcome by WCC general secretary Rev. Prof Dr Jerry Pillay, who will also offer a keynote address. Additional keynote messages will be offered by Judge Mohammed Abdelsalam, secretary-general of the Muslim Council of Elders and Archbishop of Canterbury Dr Justin Welby.  

Messages will also be shared by Filippo Grandi, United Nations high commissioner for Refugees; and Dr Tatiana Valovaya, director-general of the United Nations Office at Geneva. 

Representatives of the student body will also speak. 

A celebratory cake, as well as coffee and snacks will be shared after the ceremony.
