Presbyterian Peace Fellowship: 3 Online Events Soon - You're Invited

Open House This Thursday
At our May Activist Council Gathering, the Rev. Anne Dunlap from SURJ Faith (Showing Up for Racial Justice) taught and preached on Abolition. She said, “Abolition is a divine longing. God’s longing to end systems of oppression.” I see this definition of abolition growing in all of PPF’s working groups. We are a people committed to peace and ending systems of oppression. What a gift to the world to work to end systems of oppression while at the same time building up new ways of being with one another!

As questions of gun violence, peace, and abolition are floating around our congregations, the Presbyterians for Abolition working group wanted to create a space to engage more deeply about congregational safety. Presbyterians for Abolition is partnering with SURJ Faith to host an open house on Thursday, July 13 at 5:00 Pacific / 8:00 PM Eastern. The Rev. Anne Dunlap will be presenting on the Community Safety for All Toolkit for Congregations. This toolkit asks the questions about how do we keep our communities safe from a faith perspective. We will have time for community building, this great presentation, and a Q&A time!

Register here. If you have any questions, please reach out to me at dkearny3@gmail.com We hope to see you there!

Gratefully,
Dexter (he/him)
