There’s really no explanation needed for the purpose of this petition. COVID-19 has put a strain on every person and every industry. It will take time for all to heal from the pandemic, but what is avoidable is the stress COVID has had on the education world. The impact of virtual learning, staffing issues, contact tracing efforts, etc., has exhausted students, parents and all school staff. The faster the teachers can get in the classroom full-time, with the safety and confidence they deserve, the faster our kids can get back to their norm; learn, develop, and strive. The faster teachers can get back in the classroom, the faster the stress of parents not knowing what daycare will look like tomorrow, will end. The faster teachers can get back in the classroom, the faster school administration can focus on the future and direction of their districts and not put all their efforts into whether or not tomorrow is in-person or remote. To reiterate my opening line, there was no explanation needed. Everything I just listed is already known and not news to anybody. So why hasn’t this profession been prioritized? Please show your support to vaccinate our teachers and all school staff ASAP. Petition is my own as a citizen and does not represent the views or opinions of any Board member or Board of Education in the State of NJ. | |||||||||||||||
