Medical Benevolence Foundation - A New Chapter for MBF: CEO Transition News

We’re excited to share an important milestone in MBF’s story.

After 13 remarkable years of leadership, E. Andrew Mayo has retired as CEO of the Medical Benevolence Foundation, effective May 1st. Andy’s tenure marked a transformative era of growth, stewardship, and global impact, guiding MBF from a traditional mission agency to a global healthcare foundation.

His visionary leadership helped expand our work across Malawi, Kenya, Haiti, and the Democratic Republic of Congo, strengthen local partnerships, and launch medical and nursing education initiatives integrating faith and clinical excellence.

“It has been one of the greatest privileges of my life to serve this organization and witness firsthand the transformative power of God’s love expressed through compassionate healthcare.”
— E. Andrew Mayo

To maintain momentum during this transition, the MBF Board of Trustees has appointed Gregory Nikkel, our current CFO, as Interim CEO. Greg brings extensive nonprofit and corporate leadership experience, along with a heart deeply aligned with MBF’s mission.

“It is an honor to help steward MBF’s mission during this important season.”
— Greg Nikkel

This is a planned and prayerfully executed transition. The Board has also completed an international search for MBF’s next permanent CEO, and we look forward to introducing him in the coming months.

We invite your continued prayers and support as MBF steps boldly into this next chapter.

Together, we remain steadfast in bringing hope and healing through sustainable, Christ-centered healthcare.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for being vital to the MBF community.

– The MBF Team
