World Evangelical Alliance - International Women's Day message from the Women's Commission

International Women’s Day Message from the Women’s Commission

Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior! On this special occasion of International Women’s Day, we extend our heartfelt wishes to you all.

The WEA Women’s Commission spans across nine regions, each with national alliances, and the mission is to be a global voice for girls and women, ensuring they flourish fully in Christ. Through engaging, equipping, and empowering, we are accelerating impact and give all glory to God.

Today, we are honored to hear from our regional leaders, each reading Psalm 90:17 in their mother tongue, as we unite in prayer:

"May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us; establish the work of our hands for us—yes, establish the work of our hands."

From Asia, Grace Hee shares how mentorship and training are empowering emerging women leaders and strengthening families.

In the Caribbean, Sandra Martin speaks of the work being done to encourage and educate women across 12 islands, trusting God’s guidance.

Evodai Budai from Europe highlights two decades of equipping Christian women in leadership, bringing Gospel transformation to nations.

Irene Kibagendi from Africa shares the power of prayer and leadership development, supporting women in churches, families, and national roles.

From Latin America, Maria Fatima Oliva affirms women’s God-given identity, encouraging them to walk in strength and honor.

Hadeel Daoud from the Middle East and North Africa emphasizes efforts to uplift women, fostering leadership and transformation in their communities.

In Central Asia, Elvira Sorokina describes the importance of mentoring women, creating spaces for prayer, worship, and empowerment.

Melanie Nelson from North America shares that across the regions, the Women’s Commission is accelerating action—tackling human trafficking, advocating for biblical equality, and empowering marginalized communities.

Rachel Afeaki, from the South Pacific shares how God is raising up women to step into their destiny, strengthening partnerships for equipping and fellowship.

As we celebrate International Women’s Day globally, we stand together, believing in God’s promises and praying: “Establish the work of our hands, Lord.”
