GreenFaith: There’s No Faith in Fossil Fuels – Take Action Now

GreenFaith Logo

Right now, CERAWeek 2025 is underway in Houston—a gathering where fossil fuel CEOs and world leaders push for more drilling, more pipelines, and more pollution, all while ignoring the devastating climate disasters harming our communities. Their message is clear: they want to keep raking in profits while the rest of us pay the price.

For decades, our government has funneled at least $20 billion a year—$2 million every hour—to subsidize the fossil fuel industry. This is money that could fund education, healthcare, affordable housing, and clean energy. Instead, our leaders keep cutting vital programs while continuing to enrich the billionaire class that fuels the climate crisis.

We say NO MORE.

That’s why GreenFaith and faith leaders from across the country have gathered in Houston to confront the greed and destruction of the fossil fuel industry head-on. Under the banner “No Faith in Fossil Fuels,” we are standing in prophetic defiance—marching, praying, and demanding an end to the billions in taxpayer handouts that bankroll Big Oil’s destruction.

We opened the week with the faith contingency, leading a Toxic Tour to expose the devastating harm polluters have inflicted on frontline communities. This was followed by a Climate Revival, where we came together in faith and solidarity to affirm our commitment to a just, green future. But the fight doesn’t stop there. Throughout the week, people of faith will continue to take action, culminating in the March for Future Generations—a powerful demonstration demanding accountability from those in power at CERAWeek and a bold, immediate transition away from fossil fuels.

We have faith in our future—no faith in fossil fuels.

While we confront power on the frontlines, you don’t need to be in Houston to take action. You can add your voice today by signing our Stop Polluter Handouts letter to demand that our leaders stop subsidizing destruction and start investing in our communities and a livable future.

Sign the letter now to tell our leaders: Stop funding climate chaos. Invest in people and the planet.

Together, we can hold those in power accountable and build a future that truly reflects our values.

In faith and action,

Rev. Amy Brooks Paradise

US Organizing Director, Green Faith
