The webinar will take place on 17 May at 15.00 CET, and will explore the nature of the conflict in Sudan, humanitarian effect of the conflict and recent efforts towards peace. It will also discuss the ecumenical accompaniment for peace in Sudan and road to lasting peace in the country.

The World Council of Churches led a delegation on a visit to Sudan from 18-22 April. The ecumenical group included included the World Council of Churches (WCC), All Africa Conference of Churches, ACT Alliance, Association of Member Episcopal Conferences in Eastern Africa Global Ministries, Fellowship of Christian Councils and Churches in the Great Lakes and Horn of Africa, General Board Global Ministries of the United Methodist Church, and Norwegian Church Aid.

The joint ecumenical solidarity visit signified a collective commitment to stand with the churches and people of Sudan in their time of need, offering spiritual, pastoral, and moral support as they strive for peace, healing, and reconciliation.

Speakers of the webinar will include the leadership of the WCC and other participants of the ecumenical visit to Sudan, who will report on the situation and the needs of Sudanese people today.
