In a world full of turmoil, Compassion, Peace and Justice ministries continue to speak out against practices and policies that are fueling conflicts around the globe and that make it difficult for people on the margins to live abundant lives. CPJ also is helping to empower communities through partnerships and grants, which the Presbyterian Committee on Self-Development of People (SDOP) witnessed the fruits of recently on a trip to Nicaragua.
In the May issue of the Presbyterian Peace & Justice newsletter, you can learn more about SDOP’s trip as well as PC(USA)’s support for an upcoming Moral March by the Poor People’s Campaign. You also can read about how a water crisis documented in Presbyterian Disaster Assistance’s “Flint” documentary continues to impact residents, what social justice investing is all about, and why an Earth Care Congregation is teaching children and adults how to do composting. |
